Body Modification / Production

STOCK

The publication is printed on white 125GSM white paper, and 135 GSM colourplan in bright red. It also has a dust cover with the publication title printed in black ink. The dust cover acts as the transparent aspect that can be opened and looked inside, reflecting how the external can be looked over especially in these cases and the inside of a person can be seen as more valuable. To communicate this idea further, the inner central spreads are printed on the red stock, communicating the core of the body, the heart and the blood. On these pages are profiles of exceptionally modified individuals, celebrated with a separate section. The cover is also printed on this red stock to contrast with the dust jacket and implement the main colour initially. The rest of the publication is printed on white stock, for ease of reading and complying with the publication colour scheme.

BINDING

As for binding, the publication is staple bound, forcing attention onto the content and not any intricate binding methods. The staples are silver metal, representing the metal used within piercings.
