MON REGRET / Research / Aesthetics

With the amount of submissions I have recieved, one of the ideas is to put them into a poster series as a resolution. Before diving into the design process I took some time to gather some examples of different aesthetics that can be a source of inspiration for the project. The initial idea I had was to create posters for each regret submission.

Mixed Media

An interesting way to create depth is to use a mixture of medias - images, textures, type. This breaks down the composition into separate objects that can be viewed together as a whole. Materials such as inks, paint and charcoal could be used alongside scanned images, objects and digital type.

Cards Against Humanity

When creating the website for the project, the website was so simplistic it reminded me of the popular card game Cards Against Humanity due to the colour scheme and typeface use. This aesthetic could stretch onto the poster designs to keep it consistent.

Hand written

Hand writing is personal, just like each submission was personal to each person. Doing experiments with hand writing could be interesting as it will show the diversity and intimacy, and communicating that it came directly from the person. Hand writing could be gathered from several individuals to show the differences, and then stylised digitally.
