First developments from Charlotte, using fresh colours such as pastel pink, a soft colour which would not take away from the title. |
I chose to experiment with the spotlight being grainy and more intriguing than a flat vector, which we agreed was more mysterious and added depth and texture.
More developments inverting the spotlight and adding relevant information. The title text utilises a 'cleaner' blackletter, making the title of the exhibition more readable but yet striking. The 3D effect added alongside the glow gives more depth.
Using a flat vector image AND grain. Did not look as 'natural' but stood out and had more of a tight shape. Habour utilised to create impact, alongside neon green, adding a modern aspect alongside the modern sans serif.
Final identity:
Behold title in strong blackletter to represent grand aspect of the name, combined with the 'LCA pink' to represent the college and go back to the roots. Uses drop shadow to further stand out and coincides with spotlight/shadows. Information frames the composition and uses a contemporary typeface which contrasts with the blackletter, yet works well together because of this juxtaposition. Spotlight emerges from the LCA logo, again highlighting the origin of the exhibition and where the creative work is produced.
Each poster for each course will have it's own adjective to reflect the exceptional talent, e.g "Behold phenomenal graphic design"
Now the design will be finalised and more collateral and presentation will be created.
